Cost-effectiveness of Plasmapheresis and Hemoperfusion in COVID-19 Patients and Survivors: A Six-Month Follow-Up Analysis After Hospital Discharge

Abstract & Methodology

My M.D. thesis investigated the clinical outcomes and economic feasibility of extracorporeal blood purification modalities (plasmapheresis and hemoperfusion) in critically ill COVID-19 patients. The research evaluated long-term quality-adjusted life years (QALYs), incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICERs), and 6-month post-discharge survival rates to inform ICU resource allocation during viral respiratory pandemics.
